Joe was an undergraduate concentrating in earth and planetary science with a secondary in chemistry. His thesis is a paleoenvironment study of the Utica focusing on whether the geochemical trends observed are globally or locally forced and what that means for studies of the Ordovician time period. This research is performed primarily through iron speciation, major element, and trace metal analysis.
